Adding an image to a Forum Post

It can be very useful to add an image into your forum posts. This is achieved by using one of the little buttons on the toolbar in the forum post window.

Before you begin you need to know the location of the image you want to include, its either on your computer or it may be on another website. If it is on another website then you will need to know the 'address' of the image - this is also called the URL, you have seen this kind of thing before it will be something like http://i281.photobucket.com/albums/kk231/Daxklynsmith/Triumph/Camber.jpg
Ok so this is a bit technical so the easiest thing to do is start by including pictures that you have on your computer.
So here's what you do.
1. Sign in to the website, go to the forum page and click 'Post Message'
2. The post message dialog appears as shown opposite.
3. Enter the Subject of your post then enter the text of your post in the message area.
4. To add the image click the little button of the screen with the pencil as shown opposite.

5. This brings up the Add/Edit Image dialog as shown opposite.
6. If your linking to an image on another website add the URL (image address) in the URL area, otherwise you can upload an image by clicking on the text 'or upload an image' as shown opposite.
7. This brings up another small window (see left) which allows you to Browse the files on your computer and select the image you wish to upload.
Click Browse, select the image, then click Open. This will bring you back to the window shown here on the left. Next press Upload.
Now you have to wait until the image is uploaded, this can take time depending on the image size, best to keep the image size small. You will know when the upload has completed as the window will disappear and you will be back at the Add/Edit Image dialog.

8. Next you can select the alignment of the image in the post, left right or centre. Don't worry about the Alt Text area, you can leave that blank.
9. Your almost ready to insert the image in the post but just before you do make sure that the URL area is not empty - if it is the image did no upload correctly. You can try to wait a little longer or just start over again.
10. Once your ready click on the 'Submit Query' button.
11. You should now be back in the forum post and the image should appear. You can move the image by clicking on it and dragging it or resize it by clicking on the image, go to a corner of the image and click and drag on the corner handle (the little box on the corner of the image).
